The Women’s Risk–Needs Assessment (WRNA) is a safe, supportive support tool that helps you explore what’s going on in your life, in your words. It’s specially designed for women and recognises the experiences many women have faced, including trauma, caring responsibilities, and safety concerns.

A trained women’s caseworker will guide you through the assessment using trauma‑informed approaches. This means you are listened to without judgement, and you stay in control of what you want to share.

What the WRNA can do for you:

  • Help you recognise your strengths – many women say the WRNA gives them space to notice the strengths they already have. These strengths become part of your plan to achieve your goals and move forward.
  • Build a picture of what you need right now – the WRNA looks at different areas of your life, such as wellbeing, relationships, housing, safety, and daily pressures, to understand what support would be most helpful.
  • Create a personalised support plan – working with a caseworker, you will agree your priorities and next steps, making sure your plan reflects what matters most to you.
  • Offer consistent, reliable support – the WRNA is an evidence‑based tool used across women’s services, so you can feel confident that the assessment is thorough, consistent, and grounded in best practice.

Ongoing support as your situation changes

The WRNA isn’t just used at the start of support. It can be repeated if your circumstances change, or at agreed points along the way. This helps make sure your support plan stays up‑to‑date, relevant, and responsive to what you need over time.
