Service provided by Beth Centre
The Diversion Project
The Diversion Project runs in South London from The Beth Centre.
Diversion is an early intervention service, for eligible women, to help divert them away from the full criminal justice pathway.
It proposes an alternative process, to prosecution through the court system, by offering the opportunity to receive support from our women-only community-based service to help prevent further involvement with the (CJS) Criminal Justice System.
The Diversion Advocates offer support to any woman held in custody at Brixton or Walworth Road police stations, including women not considered eligible for a Conditional Caution.
Referral Information
The Diversion Project is available to women arrested in Lambeth and Southwark, and the Police consider them eligible for a Conditional Caution.
Eligibility depends on different factors including the nature of the allegation and the woman admitting they committed an offence.
Referrals are made by the Metropolitan Police, specifically those based at Brixton and Walworth Road Police stations.
We have two specialist Diversion Advocates based in the Beth Centre team.
To enquire about referring a woman to the project, email [email protected].
