Supporting Parents & Children Emotionally (SPACE)
SPACE is a trauma-informed parenting education programme aimed at all adults, to enable them to understand how trauma can impact on their parenting. support their children and young people who may be going through difficult times. The course helps parents to understand why their children may behave in challenging ways and how we, as adults, can support them. The course also helps parents to understand that their children’s behaviour may be a result of their parents’ trauma, and helps to facilitate positive change in parent-child relationships. This course runs over 5 sessions.
This is carried out on a 1:1 appointment-only basis with women referred into the service through probation.
