Free, confidential support for Romanian speakers in the UK who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse. The service is delivered online by a qualified IDVA, with a volunteer team of caseworkers, social workers, psychologists and translators, and is available anywhere in the UK.

We start with a risk assessment using the DASH RIC and a safety plan, and where the risk is high we refer to MARAC. From there we stay with the person for the whole case: emotional support, advocacy with police, councils, children’s services and health services, help with housing and homelessness applications, benefits, child maintenance and economic abuse, and referral to our partner solicitors for non-molestation orders, occupation orders, child arrangements and divorce. Where immigration or settled status is involved, we refer to regulated advisers.

Support is offered in Romanian, English, Romani, Spanish, Portuguese, Greek, Italian and French, with interpreting and translation provided in house by qualified translators from our team.

Self-referrals and professional referrals are both accepted and answered within 48 hours. There is no charge for any part of this service. In an emergency, always call 999.

Referral Information

Referrals are accepted from anywhere in the UK. We take self-referrals from anyone who needs support, and professional referrals from police, local authorities, children’s services, health services, schools, refuges, solicitors and other voluntary sector organisations.

The quickest way to refer is through our online forms:

Self-referral: lotusjusticeapp.co.uk/cere-ajutor
Professional referral: lotusjusticeapp.co.uk/auto-sesizare?mode=professional

Referrals can also be sent by email to [email protected] or made by phone on 0800 098 2730.

All referrals are answered within 48 hours. Where a professional is referring, we ask for the person’s consent to contact them, their preferred language, a contact number and, where one has been completed, the DASH RIC score and any known risk information. We can complete a risk assessment ourselves if none has been done.

We accept referrals for anyone aged 16 and over. There is no charge for any part of our domestic abuse support.

In an emergency, or where there is immediate risk, always call 999.
