Service provided by Women’s Centre Cornwall
One Women’s Centre
The One Women’s Centre (OWC) Pilot is an exciting project that aims to support women leaving HMP Eastwood Park who are returning or relocating to the Southwest of England and Wales. The project aims to ensure that women are at the centre of joined up services addressing underlying needs which will improve the lives of women and their families. The women’s specialist support is delivered through a trauma-informed approach, bringing together a unique partnership of women’s specialist services and local third sector organisations including HMP Eastwood Park, PACT, POBL, The Wallich, CGL, Safer Wales and Peninsula Women’s Alliance. Women who have been to prison have been involved in the design of the pilot and will oversee its implementation and delivery working alongside delivery partners.
Referral Information
We are here for women and girls aged 11+ who have been affected by any form of child sexual abuse, domestic abuse or sexual violence including rape, sexual assault or sexual harassment at any time in their lives.
We also offer support to women affected by stalking, harassment, female genital mutilation/cutting, forced marriage, so-called ‘honour-based’ abuse and exploitation.
You can call our Helpline on 01208 77099 on Monday to Friday 10am – 1pm and Monday evenings from 6pm – 9pm. The woman who answers your call will listen to you, believe you and accept you just as you are. If we can’t support you in the way you need, we will help find someone who can. If you are not able or ready to make a phone call – we understand. You can email us on [email protected].
We also have a online forum and mobile app for women living with the impact of sexual and domestic abuse – Campfire. Visit www.campfireforum.org.uk or search ‘Campfire Forum’ in any app store.
We largely operate on a self-referral basis, ensuring women and girls are ready to work with us: however, we do increasingly receive referrals from other agencies including the IDVA Service, Police, women’s refuges, Women’s Aid, housing associations, doctors, The Susie Project, probation, child, school and family services.
If you are a professional wishing to make a referral, please contact us on 01208 76466.
