New Chance Diversion Programme

This project is aimed at women who have committed first time or low-level offending, diverting them away from the criminal justice system and reducing the risk of reoffending.

Anawim receives referrals for women who have committed first time or low-level offending in which they receive a conditional caution, conditional discharge or community resolution.

Caseworkers identify the women’s immediate needs, which feed in to a 12-week targeted intervention plan, focusing on the deeper, more complex issues surrounding the offending behaviour.

Relationships with the women are built on a foundation of trust and understanding, with the women receiving support for housing and accommodation needs, mental health issues, substance and alcohol misuse, domestic violence, sexual violence, financial issues, enabling behaviour, parenting skills, family issues and emotional support.
