My Voice

This is a new programme for children and young people who are open to children’s social care due to ongoing domestic abuse. My Voice will work with the children in group settings, 1-2-1 or sibling groups depending on the needs of each child. My Voice is set over 12 weeks and will take place in school time at the Lighthouse Centre Wirral or in their school if this is in the best interest of the child.

My Voice aims include:

• Supporting children to speak out about their domestic abuse experiences.
• Helping children to identify positive and negative relationship behaviour.
• Providing the children with a personal safety plan.
• Giving the child a safe place to talk and be listened to.
• Allowing the child’s voice to be heard and to inform statutory proceedings.

Referral Information

We can only accept referrals if the children are:

• Subject to a Child Protection Plan or
• Subject to pre-proceedings or
• Looked After Children

AND

• The children and parents live in Wirral.
• The children are living at home where the abuse is taking place.
• We can support children and young people from age 4 – 18 years.
