The Intensive Supervision Court is a female-only problem-solving court, a pilot which started in Birmingham in June 2023. Women are given a community order which asks them to engage with intensive support from multiple services, all under the authority of a single judge, usually across two years. Partners from a range of organisations then co-deliver a multifaceted programme, with joint appointments and assessments so the women do not have to repeat their story. Caseworkers support them to court reviews every month and are their point of contact throughout.
