Gifted Women Employability Programme
Gifted Women is here to support you as you take your next steps.
We know that leaving prison can come with a lot of uncertainty. If you’re thinking about getting into employment, that’s where we come in.
Gifted Women is a programme for women who want to move towards employment after facing challenges like homelessness, addiction, or time in the justice system. We don’t judge or focus on what’s happened in the past – we focus on your future.
We offer one-to-one support, group employability courses, and the chance to gain experience in a real working environment through our work experience placements. Along the way, we can help with things like CV writing, interview prep, confidence building, and even practical things like clothing, transport, and ID.
You’ll be part of a supportive, women-only community where you’ll be listened to, respected, and encouraged – every step of the way.
If you’re ready to take that next step, or even if you’re just curious, get in touch. You don’t need to have it all figured out. We’ll meet you where you are.
Your journey is your own – and we’re here to walk alongside you.

Gifted Women Eligibility
To be eligible for the Gifted Women Programme:
- You must be a woman, this includes Trans Women.
- You must have been out of paid employment or formal education for at least 6 months.
- You must have a genuine desire (even if it currently feels impossible) to work and be open to taking the steps with our support to make employment a reality
- You must have experience of at least one of the following: Homelessness (this may include rough sleeping, sofa surfing, living in a B&B, hotel, refuge or other temporary accommodation). Problematic substance use, be it drugs or alcohol (Please note, Gifted Women is not intended for women still in active addiction). Have a criminal conviction/s, which may or may not have resulted in you spending time in prison.
In addition to eligibility, we will also look at readiness to join the Gifted Women Programme – readiness refers to it being the right time. This means taking into consideration the current stability of the woman’s circumstances e.g. housing, recovery, mental health.
Where it is agreed with a woman that she is not yet ready to start the Programme but this is likely to change in the next few months, she will instead be invited to attend weekly social Drop In group and we will keep reviewing readiness together.
