The Women’s Centre Cornwall is a charity with over 27 years experience supporting women and girls living with the impact of sexual and domestic abuse. Our Centre is based in Bodmin and we provide empowering support to women and girls across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and HMP Eastwood Park through our wide range of projects and services.

Our vision is a world in which women and girls are safe, respected and empowered to fulfil their potential free from violence, inequality and oppression.

We offer specific support for women facing multiple disadvantages such as homelessness and discrimination, as well as women in the criminal justice system, women with learning disabilities and migrant women.

We are a member of Rape Crisis England & Wales and meet The Rape Crisis National Service Standards.

OPEN Service

The Open Service is the Women’s Commissioned Rehabilitative Service (CRS) available to women on probation across Dorset, Devon and Cornwall, or women in any prison due to be released to those areas.

Referral Information

We are here for women and girls aged 11+ who have been affected by any form of child sexual abuse, domestic abuse or sexual violence including rape, sexual assault or sexual harassment at any time in their lives.

We also offer support to women affected by stalking, harassment, female genital mutilation/cutting, forced marriage, so-called ‘honour-based’ abuse and exploitation.

You can call our Helpline on 01208 77099 on Monday to Friday 10am – 1pm and Monday evenings from 6pm – 9pm. The woman who answers your call will listen to you, believe you and accept you just as you are. If we can’t support you in the way you need, we will help find someone who can. If you are not able or ready to make a phone call – we understand. You can email us on [email protected].

We also have a online forum and mobile app for women living with the impact of sexual and domestic abuse – Campfire. Visit www.campfireforum.org.uk or search ‘Campfire Forum’ in any app store.

We largely operate on a self-referral basis, ensuring women and girls are ready to work with us: however, we do increasingly receive referrals from other agencies including the IDVA Service, Police, women’s refuges, Women’s Aid, housing associations, doctors, The Susie Project, probation, child, school and family services.
