Stockport Women’s Centre
Stockport Women’s Centre aims to support, empower and educate women enabling them to have improved life chances for themselves and their families.
The services and activities have been developed in response to the expressed needs of the women; we work with and gaps in service provision which are offered within an ethos of valuing all women by listening, caring and encouraging.
Stockport Women’s Centres aim is to improve self-esteem and confidence which, in turn, promotes good mental health in a safe and non-clinical environment.
All activities and services provided to the women are built upon through an assessment of need and supported by a multi-skilled team including social workers, counsellors, psychotherapists, complementary therapists, support workers, careers advisors, probation workers and include:
- One to one work with women who are in need of extra support
- Counselling and psychotherapy
- Group work
- Advice and support
- Access to information and sign-posting
