Lotus Justice and Support Centre
Lotus Justice & Support Centre (CIC) is a specialist domestic abuse service for Romanian-speaking people living in the United Kingdom.
We are the first UK centre set up specifically for this community, and we support all Romanian speakers regardless of ethnicity or country of birth. Support is free, confidential and independent, and it is delivered by a qualified IDVA together with a volunteer team of lawyers, social workers, psychologists, caseworkers and qualified translators.
We work fully online and take referrals from anywhere in the UK, including self-referrals and referrals from police, local authorities, children’s services, health services, refuges and other voluntary sector organisations.
Our support includes:
Risk identification and safety planning using DASH RIC, with MARAC referrals for high risk cases
Emotional support and one to one advocacy throughout the case
Housing and homelessness support, including applications and reviews with local authorities
Advocacy with councils, police, children’s services and other agencies
Referrals to partner solicitors for non-molestation orders, occupation orders, child arrangements, divorce and financial matters
Help with benefits, child maintenance and economic abuse
Information on immigration and settled status, with referral to regulated advisers
Interpreting and translation provided in house
A weekly online support group runs every Thursday at 7pm. Referrals are answered within 48 hours. In an emergency, always call 999.

Referral Information
Referrals are accepted from anywhere in the UK. We take self-referrals from anyone who needs support, and professional referrals from police, local authorities, children’s services, health services, schools, refuges, solicitors and other voluntary sector organisations.

Referrals can also be sent by email to [email protected] or made by phone on 0800 098 2730.
All referrals are answered within 48 hours. Where a professional is referring, we ask for the person’s consent to contact them, their preferred language, a contact number and, where one has been completed, the DASH RIC score and any known risk information. We can complete a risk assessment ourselves if none has been done.
We accept referrals for anyone aged 16 and over. There is no charge for any part of our domestic abuse support.
