Lancashire Women Blackpool Centre
Lancashire Women are a leading charity, with an average of 5000 Lancashire women accessing our services each year. We empower women to live safer, happier and more positive lives. We offer help with employment support, life skills, and also mental health and wellbeing support (1 to 1 sessions and group sessions). We also have a Justice & Safety team who work with women in the justice system or women who might face homelessness or domestic abuse.
We provide a gendered considered response to offer more effective support for women who are in contact, or at risk of contact, with the criminal justice system.
By working with a range of partners and multi agency programmes, we are able to use our expertise in the provision of gender specific interventions to improve outcomes for women who may be facing multiple and complex issues, for example homelessness, poor emotional well being and experiences of trauma and abuse.
We work with women at all points in the criminal justice system, placing staff within police custody and prison settings to support engagement as well as further extending our community provision.
There’s lots going on in our Blackpool Centre – a women-only space just a short walk from Blackpool town centre on Church Street (near the Salvation Army).
We offer 1 to 1 mental health support, groups, money advice, energy advice and employability support.
