Footprints won a commendation from the Howard League for Penal reform for our women’s work in 2020. We provide person centred support for women across Dorset, including delivering conditional cautions for Dorset Police, individualised mentoring support for women in the Criminal Justice System, and therapeutic art courses (based in Boscombe).

We work one-to-one with women, over the phone or face-to-face, giving them the space to discuss the root causes of problems including housing, mental and physical health, money, debt and benefits, education, training and employment, or addictions, including gambling.

We co-develop support plans and can provide access to support grants (e.g for white goods, clothing, or course costs), and foodbank vouchers.

Support is delivered in a non-judgemental, trauma informed manner by specialist staff and volunteers.

Our support is not time limited and 40% of our staff have lived experience.
