Changing Lives Doncaster Community Hub

In Doncaster, Changing Lives has a holistic Community Hub and Women’s Centre that provides a base for a wide range of services aimed at supporting clients and their children in the community. The two main programs are the BAME and the Crisis support projects.

We have a front desk team that support all clients excessing our services from filling in referrals process’s or 1-1s and where needed supporting to refer in to other agencies. They hold a wealth of knowledge and expertise.

We have an free onsite childcare facility for all to use once excessing any of our services.

In partnership with Complex Lives we have a new service called Housing 1st project. This project is for individuals suffering from repeat homelessness or entrenched rough sleeping, where the normal housing pathway has been unsuccessful for them. We place them in good quality, fully-furnished properties, giving them a safe and comfortable environment in which they can work on their other needs with the support of Complex Lives.

The Hub also acts as a Big Issue vendor, selling magazines to street vendors. The Big Issue offers people the opportunity to earn a legitimate income through selling a magazine to members of the public.

Our Centre is conveniently located in the heart of Doncaster and provides a warm welcome to all from a range of backgrounds and lived experience.

Complex Lives team, Aspire and WEA services rent space in our Centre, providing referral opportunities between our services.

We offer:

– Signposting and access to services via our friendly reception team
– Accredited English Language classes – for Speakers of other Languages – at 2 levels
– Health promotion workshops and support accessing health services for BAME women
– Mental Health support in partnership with Doncaster Mind, providing Counselling, 1-to-1 support and therapeutic group work.
– Bereaved by Suicide support groups.
– Domestic abuse course called ‘ Inside Out’ for women experiencing domestic abuse.
– Free on-site childcare crèche, for parents accessing our services or courses.
– Other drop-in services including healthcare, legal advice and support for people experiencing domestic abuse.
