Anawim – Birmingham’s Centre for Women is a women’s charity that excels in delivering comprehensive support services and advocating for fairer treatment of women facing multiple and complex challenges. Over the past year, our support has reached 1282 women and provided them with opportunities to reach their full potential.

Anawim equips women to tackle challenges and meet their needs using a person-centered approach, integrating counselling, courses, and casework. This enables women to progress step by step, develop coping mechanisms, and cultivate resilience for the future.

We work with community partners to challenge anything which degrades and diminishes some of the most marginalised members of society, such as those caught in prostitution, the criminal justice system and victims of abuse.

ACCESS Unit at HMP Foston Hall To enable us to increase our presence and support within HMP Foston Hall we have also got one Enhancement Worker located in the ACCESS unit, which is part of the Offender Personality Disorder Pathway.	Behavioural Support Mental Health
Alternatives to Custody Anawim works with the Probation Service to offer community sentences as part of Community Rehabilitation Services which can be used as alternatives to custody for women involved in the criminal justice system. New Chance Diversion Programme This project is aimed at women who have committed first time or low-level offending, diverting them away from the criminal justice system and reducing the risk of reoffending.
